Our Precious Mothers

Along with the tulips and spring comes Mother's Day.
A perfect day to say thank you, to give hugs and send lots of love. A day that smells good, just like our moms!
A mom is a huge part of our lives!
A giant ship, a high and strong mountain, the moon and the sun at the same time, the WHOLE solar system!
We say "mom", but should we say "mother figure"?
Because this role goes beyond the status, the gender or any limits or labels that we may give it.

THE MOTHER FIGURE

Anaïs Oytana, Social Media Coordinator at Coco Village and Ethan, 1 month old

It is the place where children take refuge, sobbing, after having scraped their knees (again). You know, that small soft corner so comforting in the hollow of the neck.

It is the person who reassures, smiles, is amazed at incomprehensible drawings, who listens to the crazy, sometimes absurd stories with attention (or sometimes just with one ear, but that counts too ;).

The one who sings a song, tells a story and pats on the back before going to sleep. The one who puts anti-monster push-push under the bed to reassure, who cooks nostalgic dishes and who gets up exhausted between two laundry loads to attend a tea party.

A MOTHER FIGURE IS ALSO AN EXCELLENT CHAMELEON

Marie-Laurence Demers, Photographer at Coco Village, and Dexter - 5 years old, Charline - 4 years old, Ames - 4 years old

She may be in your grandmother, your older brother, your aunt, your dad or simply in your mom.

She is also one of those who are waiting for their turn with love and impatience, but for whom life has decided otherwise for the moment. Or those who had to say goodbye prematurely to that little bit of life that left their womb too early. Those at home or at work, single or not, none should be forgotten and all deserve to be celebrated.

She is that loving, present person, no matter her title, gender or status.
Basically, it's pure love and it deserves to be recognized!
